The Strength Tarot

The Strength is the tenth Tarot card major arcanum. It is a very powerful card.

The character drawn on the card is a woman who's fighting a lion and such a drawing is surely the best symbol used to represent Strength.

The woman on the card wears a hat on which is a crown, this means that she is a woman who has a lot of power, like a Queen or an Empress.

Her cape is red; which is the symbol of her strength and her dress is blue; which is sign of power and wealthiness.

The Strength Tarot arcanum is symbol of the domination of the spirit over primary physical strength; it also relates to humanity as it is supposed to do.

The Strength is a very positive card of the Tarot cards deck. As said earlier, it relates to mental power; the way anyone is able to overcome any trouble, it's synonym of... will.

The Strength is in the right position:

• Conviction
• Energy
• Heroism
• Mental and/or physical power... 

The Strength Tarot upside down:

• Weak pettiness
• Useless pride
• Arrogance

As you can see, if the consultant chooses the Strength in a spread, the card will bring a more positive effect, even if the card located next to Strength is a negative one.

Time has come to make a few tarot reading experiments. Let's take a few examples:

When the Strength Tarot is placed to the right of the Magician, its meaning relates to striking success at work.

If the Strength Tarot is located to the right of the Empress Tarot, it might relate to a difficult pregnancy.

Another example would be the one of a consultant who's looking for a new job. As you know the current economic situation isn't favorable to find a job. Let's say that in the spread we do for the consultant, all cards except two are extremely negative. However, the spread ends with the Magician and the Strength. This would mean that our consultant will find a job because they will literally force their potential employer to hire them.

Whenever our consultant is facing troubles in their couple, if Strength is one of the ending cards, you can for sure announce that those troubles will come to an end because of the will of our consultant. Obviously, troubles may come to an end because the consultant makes a decision on getting divorced - such a decision necessitates a lot of strength.

The Strength card placed upside down or in the negative position (second card in a simple cross for example) it relates to lack of confidence or conviction of our consultant.

When Strength is the answer of a simple cross, it means that the consultant will win the battle he/she is facing.

We all have more will and power than we usually use. It's human. Strength is just there to recall you that you can succeed if you find the needed energy and strength in yourself. 

In another page; which was dedicated to the Hermit Tarot, we have seen that our consultant found them-self alone, getting no support from their family or friends and had to deal with a very hard and complicated situation.

We used a simple cross spread to illustrate the example. And the synthesis of this spread was the Strength.

As explained in the Hermit Tarot page, the Strength Tarot card taught us that our consultant had more will and mental power than they thought first. This power would help them to overcome their problems and put an end to all their troubles.
